Ms. Lisa Yankowitz is the founder and Training Director for The Employment
Law Group, Training and Consulting Services (ELG), an organization
specializing in preventing problems in the workplace. Ms. Yankowitz
combines solid knowledge of employment law, a unique and captivating style
and real world experience to provide unparalleled training and consulting
services. She has worked with the American Management Association
and Dale Carnegie. She is an instructor for the Keller Graduate School
of Management and is a member of the Missouri and Florida Bar. She
is a graduate of the State University of New York and the University of
Miami School of Law.
This month we are having a lunch meeting and we are continuing with
our new format in order to meet the time constraints of our members.
There will not be a formal sit down lunch but we will have an appetizer
buffet that will be perfect for lunch. We hope that this will allow
more members to attend our meetings.

The St. Louis Chapter of the IMA is pleased to welcome Mr. Jeff Fleming. He is an attorney, a CPA and a humorist, and according to Jeff, these professions are not mutually exclusive! Although some attorneys may be funny - Jeff intends to be! Jeff is a member of the National Speakers Association. His corporate clients for his speaking services include Bank One, Anheuser-Busch, and Federal Express Corporation. With tax time and other pressures the first quarter of a new year brings, we need to remember to laugh more often and have fun. Jeff’s program will show us how to tickle our funny bones and boost our spirits to reduce stress and enjoy each day more. Mark you calendar now. We promise you will learn and have fun at the same time.
For the New Year we are continuing with the chapter’s new format. In hopes of getting our members home at an earlier hour and to meet the time constraints of our members, we will continue the happy hour format. This includes an appetizer buffet and the usual cash bar. We hope that this will allow more members to attend our meetings.

WHAT CORPORATE AMERICA WANTS
The St. Louis Chapter of the IMA is pleased to present a panel and roundtable discussion of the KSA’s (Knowledge, Skills, & Attributes) that Corporate America is looking for in new hires and practical hiring and retention strategies for Corporate America in the current employment environment.
Our panel will consist of: Laura Asher, Director, Human Resources at Rubin Brown & Gornstein; Dorothy Henricks, Director, Human Resources at Correctional Medical Service; Professor Don Babbit of Lindenwood College; and Rick Kessler of Robert Half. Our roundtable discussion will include students and Faculty from: Lindenwood College; Maryville University; Saint Louis University; Sanford Brown College; Southeast Missouri State University; Southern Illinois University – Carbondale; Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville; University of Missouri – Saint Louis; Washington University.

The St. Louis Chapter of the IMA is pleased to welcome Mr. Shannon Struemph and Mr. Bob Gartner from the Missouri Lottery. Mr. Struemph is a Computer Information Technologist with the Missouri Lottery’s Security Division. In his presentation he will discuss the background of the Missouri Lottery and some basic security issues as they pertain to the Lottery in general. He will also discuss specific games and drawings in greater detail. Mr. Struemph will also be showing a short video that will be followed by a question and answer period. Mr. Struemph has been with the Missouri Lottery for nearly five years. Prior to joining the Missouri Lottery, he was employed as an Investor Reporting Accountant with a local financial institution. Mr. Struemph earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Columbia College located in Columbia, Missouri. His continuing education while at the Missouri Lottery includes classes in fraud detection and prevention as well as computer security. Mr. Struemph's responsibilities include new game acceptance testing and quality assurance, Scratchers games audits, and investigations.

Etiquette in the Business Setting
Presented By The St. Louis Chapter of the IMA is pleased to welcome Ms. Dorothy Soskin. Ms. Soskin will discuss the origins of etiquette, the proper handshake, courtesies for every day, business introductions, rising to the occasion—respect, how to remember names, how to make an entrance and work a room to strengthen connections, good telephone skills, continental vs. American style of eating, the silent service code, how to hold the knife and fork, passing food, wines and beverages, toasting, and the art of conversation. Ms. Dorothy Soskin
Ms. Soskin was certified and trained by the Protocol School of Washington, D.C. to teach business etiquette, teen etiquette, and international protocol. Mrs. Soskin has a degree in Education from Maryville College, and is a licensed teacher in Missouri. She has held classes at the Ritz-Carlton, Junior League, and is currently a local etiquette columnist under the name “Dear Dot”.
