      SUMMARY
      Evaluates internal controls in the information technology and data processing environment and audits the information technology, data processing and accounting design and methodologies used by departments and branches of the Bank in order to verify the accuracy of the financial information and audits for compliance with Bank and external policies and regulations.
      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
      • Plans and performs information technology audits in accordance with the General Audit Plan as approved by the audit Committee of the Board of Directors.
      • Analyzes data obtained for evidence of deficiencies in controls, duplication of effort, extravagance, fraud, or lack of compliance with laws, government regulations, and management policies and procedures.
      • Evaluates the system of internal controls of the Company and data processing servicers and makes recommendations for improvement.
      • Prepares audit working papers documenting the procedures performed and the results of those procedures, and prepares reports of findings and recommendations for management in accordance with departmental and industry standards.
      • Provides assistance to management in resolving deficiencies noted in audits and in the design and development of monitoring methods for identification of similar occurrences.
      • Provides direct assistance and support on technology related matters to other Internal Audit Department personnel as deemed necessary.
      • Provides advisory services when management is developing internal controls for new or existing systems.
      • Assists in coordinating with external auditors in connection with year-end audits.
      • Assists in coordinating data processing needs and provides assistance to examiners and regulatory agencies as needed.
      • Attends various training sessions on compliance issues or auditing related courses as deemed necessary by the Information Technology Audit Manager and Director of Internal Audit.
      • Remains abreast of issues in the banking and auditing fields by reading various technical bulletins, periodicals, and newsletters.
      EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
      Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Accounting, Business or Finance from four-year college or university; and three to five years related experience and/or training in auditing in the financial industry; at least three years of specific experience in the information technology/data processing area, preferably with an emphasis in the financial services industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Extensive knowledge of information technology and data processing systems is required.
      Proficiency in Word, Excel, Internet, E-mail and on-line systems are required.
      CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
      Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor certification preferred.
